Marine Natura 2000 project group
All marine Natura 2000 work is now
co-ordinated through an inter-agency working group entitled the
'Marine Natura 2000 Project Group' chaired by Lynda Warren,
independent member of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. The
Project Group reports to the Joint Nature Conservation Committee
and works with the SPA Scientific Working Group. Minutes and Terms
of Reference for the Project Group are available. The
identification and proposal of SACs which are fully detached from
the coast but lie in territorial waters remains with the relevant
country conservation agency. As guidance and methods are devised we
will consult with stakeholders and marine experts through
consultation exercises and/or relevant fora.
