Committee meetings

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) is the statutory adviser to Government on UK and international nature conservation, on behalf of the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside, the Countryside Council for Wales, Natural England and Scottish Natural Heritage. Its work contributes to maintaining and enriching biological diversity, conserving geological features and sustaining natural systems.

The first open Committee Meeting was held in September 2001 - as part of the JNCC's commitment to open government. All aspects of the Committee's work will now be discussed in a public forum, except in those circumstances requiring confidentiality. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings as observers, with full details of forthcoming meetings available below.  Meeting agendas and Committee papers are made available here approximately one week before the meeting date. Also information papers are produced between Committee meetings and can be viewed from this link.
