UKSeaMap webGIS

Launch WebGIS

Select an initial map below

The UKSeaMap project’s interactive geographical information system (GIS) allows users to access and download the maps created by the project showing seabed landscapes and seasonal water column features.  Supporting layers are also available to view, including data used to make the final maps such as geology, bathymetry, tide stress and salinity.

By using this site you are agreeing to be bound by the UKSeaMap webGIS Terms & Conditions. The UKSeaMap webGIS Terms & Conditions govern the way you can use the service and any material, data and/or information made available to you through it.  Please read them carefully and take note of the general limitations of the UKSeaMap data.

You can choose a starting point to launch the webGIS from the drop down list above.  The webGIS has a number of tabs in the top right of the screen, as you can see in the example below.  These tabs allow you to select which layers to display, show a legend for the map and give you some further information about the location in view.  Above the tabs are a number of tool buttons that enable you to zoom in and out, and to query the map.  There is a help screen available with more detailed descriptions of these functions, which we recommend you read before using the site for the first time.

Please note that the seabed map is soon to be updated
