OCPP: Sri Lanka Remote Sensing and Habitat Mapping: Seagrass Model 2026

Abstract

The Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) has worked in collaboration with Northumbria University, to use remote sensing and habitat mapping techniques to map the national extent and distribution of seagrass in Sri Lanka. As part of this work, a National Scale Seagrass Habitat Model for Sri Lanka, has been produced, which is available to download.

Accompanying resources, including a report summarising the methodology followed to develop the national scale seagrass habitat map for Sri Lanka, are also available: (Sri Lanka Seagrass Mapping: Accompanying reports and resources)
