Sri Lanka Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) assessment: Pigeon Island National Park 2025

Abstract

Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) using METT-4 assessments is a tool used globally to measure the impact of management actions on protected areas.

The OCPP have supported two phases, in 2024 and 2025, of METT-4 assessments in Sri Lanka. In collaboration with the Sri Lankan Department for Wildlife Conservation, OCPP contracted Inbound Hype to develop summary posters and leaflets for each completed assessments to improve outreach and transparency.

Posters and leaflets for Pigeon Island National Park are included below in English, Tamil and Sinhala.

Posters and leaflets for other areas are available from 'Sri Lanka Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) assessments'.
